Job responsibilities: -A regulatory counsel to manage Japan legal and regulatory matters. This will involve developing a deep understanding of our product suite (by working closely with product legal counsels) and then mapping to Japan-centric laws and regulations. -Reporting into Head of Legal, APAC. -Working closely with APAC General Manager and compliance teams covering Japan (under APAC). -Able to support M&A legal team from regulatory/licensing perspective for target due diligence, in Japan.

Job Requirements: -Strong English & Japanese language capabilities. -Have worked in a fintech or big tech environment in the legal team. -Strong regulatory background - have grappled with and solved problems that required understanding local laws/regulations and finding paths to compliance with broader stakeholder teams (e.g., business/product/tech). -Demonstrated ability to operate in local markets while remaining close to developments in HQ. -Exposure to any of the following sectors: payments, card schemes, crypto, blockchain-assets, core fin-reg, e-wallets, etc. -Comfortable with fast-moving projects, uncertainty and making judgment calls. -Based in Japan. -Understands the recent shifts with respect to cryptocurrency (and associated taxes) in Japan and can thread a path through for Crypto.com to launch both its main app and exchange businesses in Japan.
