Role
Magic is looking for a passionate builder to join us in exploring, researching, experimenting, and developing new solutions on behalf of our developer user base. With your strong coding skills, you will work collaboratively with customers to contribute code to open source projects. You will take the lead in working with the Open Source community to use our products effectively and resolve comments & issues that are raised through the process. You will also create exciting tools to enhance our developer community’s experience and teaching developers how to use Magic’s products effectively. Reporting to the VP, Marketing, this role will work collaboratively with Engineering, Product, Sales, Customer Experience, Content teams, and Engineering teams to strengthen the user experience for Magic’s customers.
About You
- Software development experience and a desire to share your knowledge with others
- A demonstrated history of contributing code to open source projects
- A passion for evangelizing developer tools and open source software
- Aptitude to quickly learn and experiment with new technologies
- Possess strong empathy for the needs of our developers
- A background talking directly to customers
- Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and come up with solutions
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field of study
- 5-7 years of professional experience in software development
- Javascript proficiency and other frontend frameworks like React (other languages such as Python, Ruby, Go, Rust, Solidity, and Move a bonus)
- Experience contributing to open source software and working with respective communities
- Experience with full-stack web development
- Published papers or spoken at open source conferences
- A passion for Web3
- Have built your own custom open source developer tools or software modules
- Experienced in Rust, Solidity, Move, Python, Ruby, or Go
