Optimism Unlimited is looking for a People Operations Manager who will provide vital support to Optimismโ€™s talent goals and business partnership in aspects of human resources, recruiting, organizational development, culture, and employee happiness and engagement.

What are the role responsibilities?

  • Implement people programs across the organization related to onboarding and offboarding, compensation and benefits, training and development, records management, employee engagement and retention, compliance, and labor relations
  • Responsible for payroll processing and providing functional support for compensation and other incentive programs
  • Champion collaborative cross-functional relationships with Recruiting, Payroll/Accounting, Finance, other teams, and hiring managers to ensure the successful onboarding and offboarding of new employees and contract workers
  • Improve manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems; evaluating potential solutions; implementing selected solution; coaching and counseling managers and employees.
  • Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Develop programs related to remote and global work.

What skills do you bring?

  • You have experience in a high-growth startup environment with constant change as your companion; experience working as a People Partner, HR Manager, HR Program Manager or similar role
  • Strong values with a clear inner core of purpose-driven leadership, commitment to building and developing the OP Labs culture as we continue to scale.
  • Knowledge of HRIS and payroll systems
  • A clear understanding of Human Resources practices and legal requirements.
  • Working knowledge of the critical components of a successful HR department including employment law, performance management, resolving conflict, having difficult conversations, employee engagement, training, maintaining employee files, and managing operational budgets.
  • Well-developed writing and presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly across all levels of an organization.
  • Discretion, sensitivity, and confidentiality. Demonstrated ability to listen, analyze and inform appropriately while maintaining the required sensibilities in handling confidential information.
