Job Summary:

The Legal Associate position is an exciting opportunity to join a growing digital asset firm and work with experienced financial services professionals to develop and expand an exciting range of financial products.

Key Accountabilities and Scope:

  • Providing support in monitoring and advising the business on emerging legal and regulatory risks and opportunities as it relates to exchange traded products and digital assets.
  • Working with the product team on the legal and regulatory requirements for the set up and maintenance of our financial products.
  • Working outside counsel as appropriate and partner with compliance and risk teams as necessary.
  • Negotiating, drafting and advising on commercial contracts, including service provider agreements, index licenses, technology agreements, service agreements, distribution agreements, customer contracts, vendor contracts, software licenses, consultancy agreements and marketing agreements.
  • Working directly with internal and external clients in the contract negotiation process including ensuring that sales and the business comply with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and company policies.
  • Working collaboratively and providing input to new and existing policies and procedures to ensure that any changes to processes are within the permitted legal and regulatory framework.

Skills required:

  • A commercially minded, fully qualified attorney admitted to practice in an EU jurisdiction and/or Switzerland.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ post qualification experience as in-house counsel at an asset management firm or in a reputable law firm.
  • Experience in financial services law and regulation.
  • Comfortable in dealing with various commercial law matters, including commercial contract negotiations, drafting and reviewing.
  • Familiar with performing multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • A high level of understanding of processes, policies and key relationships, with an ability to monitor, design and continuously improve processes.
  • Good knowledge of the wider financial industry.
  • Awareness of relevant regulation.
  • Interest in cryptocurrencies.

Must be based and willing to work in the Zurich office.
