Job Title: ASIC Repair Associate

Department: Operations

Location: Remote

Reports To: Operations Team Lead

SUMMARY

The ASIC Repair Associate is responsible for the overall repair of the company's ASIC miners. This includes planning, scheduling, and overseeing all repair activities, as well as ensuring that the miners are repaired in a timely and efficient manner, with a focus on quality. The ideal candidate will have expertise in ASIC repair and be able to work independently and as part of a team. This is a remote position with up to 50% travel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive repair plan for ASIC miners, 250k+  

  • Schedule and oversee all repair activities, including troubleshooting, repairing, and testing

  • Manage a team of repair technicians

  • Inventory management and control of mining assets 

  • Manage multiple repair vendors and track project completion deadlines. 

  • Ensure that all repair activities are completed in a safe and timely manner and adhere to safety codes

  • Stay up to date on the latest ASIC repair technologies and practices 

  • Develop and maintain relationships with ASIC repair vendors

  • Track and report on the cost of repair activities with a focus on price, capacity, and quality of work. 

  • Develop P&L reports

  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure that repair activities do not disrupt operations throughput

  • Travel to mining sites to establish repair protocols and training

  • Travel to events, trainings, and functions 

  • Work global hours

  • Location agnostic 

  • Develop and maintain industry leading Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) 

  • Support other operations team members

  • Track FRU inventory and aid in procurement

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Pride and ownership of company assets 

  • Decision making based on quantitative and qualitative analysis  

  • Ability to project and execute in a time sensitive environment

  • ASIC Repair Subject Matter Expert (SME) 

  • Ant College certified (preferred) 

  • Technical abilities to include: Soldering. Non-lead soldering, TTL debugging, multimeter proficiency. 

  • Experience with PCB, motherboards, hashboards and control boards 

  • Experience repairing Bitmain, Canaan, MicroBT, other ASIC

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as electrical engineering or computer engineering 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

  • Passport and ability to travel internationally

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business publications.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply basic math concepts such as addition, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

  • Turnaround time: Average time it takes to repair an ASIC miner

  • Quality of repairs: Percentage of repairs that do not require future repairs

  • Hashrate recovered

  • Hashrate online 

  • Accuracy of reports
