About CoinDesk Indices

CoinDesk Indices will provide crypto data solutions to our customers that allow them to license, ingest and use data on a desktop offering across their enterprise and consume data feeds in real time. Mission-critical datasets will serve as a critical source of information across CoinDesk Indices, CoinDesk Media, DCG subsidiaries, and ultimately, the most respected capital markets firms. We will become a content partner and a thought leader in building solutions for Market Data, On-Chain Data, and Analytics.

About this role:

CoinDesk Indices is looking for entrepreneurial index and data sales professionals to lead day-to-day commercial efforts. This is an opportunity to build a pillar in a new asset category that is redefining the financial sector. A strong candidate would have experience selling index licenses and index data to financial institutions. They will thrive when the product or the category is new and sometimes complicated, educating and advising potential clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish new relationships and build out a pipeline of new licensing and revenue opportunities.
  • Forecast and uncover opportunities with clients and prospects in multiple business categories.
  • Collaborate with executives to develop a scalable commercial and revenue plan for the index and data business.
  • Develop and close outside lead sources with institutional firms (asset managers, proprietary trading firms, hedge funds, exchanges, and financial data vendors).
  • Maintain and upsell new products to well-established relationships, create a strong network and a reputation that allows interaction with the institutional firms using CoinDesk Indexes products.
  • Be an advisor to clients, internal product managers, and engineering teams in order to gather and prioritize feedback on new products.
  • Educate prospects about crypto markets; provide helpful crypto commentary and resources.
  • Assess the competitive environment and compile regular analyses for executive review.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Product and Sales to translate clients' and prospects' feedback into effective go-to-market, and messages.
  • Meet or exceed revenue team targets.
  • Track all activities: calls, conversations, contracts, etc., accurately and qualify opportunities.
  • Attend conferences and client meetings both virtual and, as COVID safety protocols allow, in person, traveling as needed and as safety permits.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 + years of business development and sales experience in the financial sector.
  • Deep knowledge and interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain.
  • Results-oriented business leader with a proven track record.
  • Experience driving brand and business objectives and managing relationships.
  • Industry relationships that are current and well-developed.
  • Excellent practices in client relationship management and processes.
  • Ability to collaborate with team members from diverse backgrounds and areas of expertise.
  • Ability to plan, record and manage activities effectively.

In compliance with the New York City salary transparency requirements, the potential salary for this position is from $160,000 to $200,000 which represents a range commensurate with experience.
