**Developer Advocate

**The IOTA Foundation is a not-for-profit organization established in 2017 and headquartered in Berlin, Germany. The Foundation’s mission is to drive the development and standardization of new distributed ledger technologies (DLTs) that enable permissionless innovation ecosystems. To realize this potential the IOTA Foundation is actively building a collaborative of developers, start-ups, private enterprises, and government, civil society and academic institutions.

Concretely, we engage in engineering, research and community organizing efforts around the IOTA Tangle – a new generation of DLT specifically designed to be the open and free trust layer for the Internet-of-Things (IoT).

Mission:

As a Developer Advocate, you will be connecting the builders and creators in the blockchain and DLT ecosystem to IOTA. You will communicate on the latest advancements and technologies in IOTA and explain how they can be used. You will be the bridge between IOTA and the IOTA ecosystem.

Tasks

• Communicate with the IOTA community through channels such as video demonstrations, webinars, written guides, walkthroughs, and documentation
• Write demos and example applications
• Help developers build on the IOTA stack. Educate them in best practices
• Stay in touch with the IOTA developer community by answering questions and providing direction
• Participate in and organize IOTA ecosystem initiatives
• Be an advocate for using IOTA technologies
• Analyze data and help grow the IOTA ecosystem
• Act as an important stakeholder in the development of the developer tools that are part of the IOTA stack and ecosystem
• Work effectively across different teams to address problems and collaboratively arrive at the solutions

Requirements

• Good understanding of blockchain technology and smart contracts. Existing understanding of IOTA a plus
• Interest in decentralized technologies
• Solid programming skills in at least one object-oriented programming language
• Good code documentation and general documentation practices
• Practical experience in open source projects
• English language on a native speaker level, both written and spoken
• Experience with teaching others - past experience in organizing webinars, courses and more
• Experience with CI/CD
• Self-driven individual who takes responsibility for projects from their inception
• Ability, desire, and dedication to pick up new platforms or technologies as well as improve in existing ones
• Motivated to help others achieve the most when working with technical concepts
