Paxful is a financial company set up to give everyone equal access to finance. Our platform supports over ten million global users. Working alongside our accomplished PR team, you will be charged with shaping how Paxful is perceived. Education within the industry is vital and you’ll be tasked with building strategies that communicate the benefits of Bitcoin and peer-to-peer finance. You will also work closely with international agencies to build and sustain the global reputation of Paxful. Paxful’s team embraces customer focus, tenacious problem-solving, collaboration, and the Communications Manager, Public Relations will contribute to this culture, while pushing us to innovate and do our best work.

What You’ll Do

• Develop Paxful's media strategy around the world.
• Partner with international PR agencies, predominately in Africa and Asia, to support ongoing regional efforts.
• Amplify our social good initiatives, including our work alongside the Built With Bitcoin Foundation (to which the Paxful CEO is a co-founder).
• Provide counsel and support to the executive team on various media and speaking engagements.
• Identify and train company spokespeople in key regions.
• Craft company messages and short-term content that directly map to Paxful’s mission.
• Partner with multiple departments across the company on various business initiatives, e.g. work with our Business Intelligence team to organize data from different regions.
• Write interdepartmental memos and other business correspondence.
• Monitor the media landscape and shape relevant stories that support the company’s narrative.
• Conduct proactive/reactive media outreach and build relationships in the financial and tech space.

Who You Are

• You are knowledgeable and/or curious about the financial media landscape and stay up to date with the latest industry news.
• You have experience and/or interest in the internal communications function and have implemented strategies within an organization.
• You have executive communication skills and are used to working across departments.
• You're both strategic and hands-on: able to figure out how to get to where we need to be and also happy to do the work that gets us there.
• You're a quick thinker, able to understand complex issues and communicate them clearly.
• You know a good story and how to tell it.

What We’re Looking For

• At least 4-5 years in public relations and/or media relations.
• Passion for working for a mission- driven organization.
• Strong experience of the financial, tech, and/or business media landscape.
• Background in building media strategy and pitching relevant stories to press.
• Familiarity in building internal communications strategies and best practices is a plus.
• Experience of issues management.
• Comfortability in a fast-moving financial or tech company/agency.
• Outstanding written and spoken English.
