Full Stack Software Engineer
Do you have a deep knowledge of front end and back end engineering? Do you set high standards and have attention to detail? Do you enjoy working across the stack, from visual design, user interaction design, front end technologies, back end interface design and implementation? If you're nodding in agreement, this may be the job for you! DFINITY is seeking a dynamic Software Engineer to join our crypto wallet team, dedicated to delivering our flagship retail wallet Oisy.
Oisy is on a mission to provide the first self-custody, multi-chain, browser-based and open source wallet for the crypto space using ICP’s Internet Identity and Chain Fusion as the underlying technologies.
What You'll Do:
- Build intuitive user interfaces that enhance user engagement.
- Deliver features that span multiple chains and diverse use cases, e.g., from in-app swaps to supporting NFTs.
- Employ rapid prototyping and agile methodologies to quickly deliver impactful software solutions.
- Work alongside a cross-disciplinary team, including engineers, researchers, and product managers, to bring abstract ideas to life.
- Maintain a security-critical attitude since Oisy is designed to manage substantial assets.
Some of the things that may be helpful preparation for a role at DFINITY include:
- Work experience as full stack developer
- Deep knowledge of frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript and modern frameworks such as Svelte (preferred), React and Vue.
- Experience shipping significant software systems as part of a medium to large organization.
- A good understanding of at least one system software language, such as Rust (preferred), Go or C++.
- Experience designing systems that run 24x7x365, and working in an organization that deploy and operate such systems.
- Nice to have: Experience with developing canisters for the Internet Computer and interacting with various blockchains, especially in transaction handling.
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a closely related field. The unique challenges at DFINITY have attracted many engineers with advanced degrees, however your practical experience is more important to us than your educational background.
* Please note, this is a full time role that requires onsite presence in our amazing office in central Zurich 3 days per week.
What does a full stack developer in web3 do?
A full stack web3 developer is a developer who has expertise in the full stack of technologies that are used to build web3 applications
These applications use the decentralized, distributed nature of the web3 network to provide users with a secure and decentralized way of accessing and interacting with online services and applications. The responsibilities of a full stack web3 developer will vary depending on the specific project and the needs of the team they are working with
In general, though, a full stack web3 developer will be responsible for: designing and building the front-end and back-end of web3 applications, as well as implementing and maintaining the underlying blockchain infrastructure
This will often involve working with a variety of different technologies and programming languages, such as Solidity for smart contract development, JavaScript and HTML for front-end development, and various blockchain protocols and frameworks. Additionally, a full stack web3 developer may also be responsible for working with the web3 community to help drive adoption and integration of web3 technologies, as well as staying up-to-date on the latest developments in the field and contributing to the broader web3 ecosystem.
