Improbable is a Venture Builder. We are working with leaders to create businesses in AI transformation, the metaverse and web3. We both create businesses from scratch and invest in existing businesses. This role sits within our central services teams - who work with ventures to help them achieve success; including early-stage prototyping and initial product development.

We’re tackling hard tech challenges to push the boundaries of innovation. As a Technical Project Manager, you’ll work on cutting-edge R&D-focused projects, from blockchain to AI and Web3 technologies. You’ll collaborate with engineers and stakeholders, bridging the gap between technical excellence and organisational efficiency, while driving solutions for complex technical problems.

Your Opportunity

  • Manage complex technical projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical requirements.

  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to plan, structure, and track workstreams, deliverables, and milestones.

  • Facilitate technical discussions on architecture, design, and implementation, ensuring alignment and smooth progress.

  • Solve challenging technical problems across R&D projects, from blockchain to AI and Web3, requiring creative and scalable solutions.

  • Adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple, simultaneous projects, mastering context-switching as a key skill.

  • Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication.

  • Champion Agile frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban, tailoring them to suit the needs of each project and driving continuous improvement.

Why You’re Made for This

  • Technical Foundations: You have a degree in computer science or have worked as an engineer, gaining first-hand experience of the engineering lifecycle and workflows.

  • Problem-Solving Mindset: You thrive on solving hard tech problems and excel in R&D-focused environments.

  • Versatile Expertise: Familiarity with cutting-edge technologies such as blockchain, AI, Web3, or similar domains.

  • Organisational Agility: You’re excellent at context-switching and can manage multiple concurrent projects without missing a beat.

  • Framework Mastery: You understand the strengths and applications of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban, and can adapt them effectively to project needs.

  • Clear Communicator: Skilled at translating complex technical concepts into actionable plans and communicating effectively with diverse stakeholders.

  • Continuous Learner: Passionate about learning new methodologies and staying up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.

This role is available as remote, hybrid or in-office. We have a great office space in Spitalfields in London but are equally happy if you'd prefer to work from home some, or all of the time. We are 'Flexa' certified, meaning our entire employee experience is anchored around flexibility and autonomy.
