THE ROLE
As a Rust Engineer, you will be contributing to Messari’s effort on democratizing blockchain data. In particular, you will be contributing to various open source projects such as:
- Substreams, a massively parallelizable computing framework for indexing blockchain data. You can read more about it here.
- Subgraphs, subgraphs are mini data pipelines used to index blockchain data. Messari uses subgraphs to standardize blockchain data across different DeFi protocols.
- Graph Node, the core indexer software used in The Graph Network for indexing blockchain data.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Contribute to open source projects like the ones listed above.
- Design and implement data pipelines to transform and aggregate raw blockchain data into high-level metrics.
- Design and implement necessary tooling, testing framework, and libraries to make the process as efficient as possible.
- Integrate output of distributed computing framework (substreams) with data sink such as Postgres DB.
WHO YOU ARE:
- 3-5 years of software engineering experience shipping production-quality code.
- Experience building high performance systems-level software using Rust.
- Have a passion for crypto, smart contracts, and DeFi
NICE TO HAVE:
- Familiarity with Postgres, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Deep knowledge of the internal workings of at least 1 DeFi protocol.
- Good knowledge of solidity and EVM.
Salary Ranges for this position (depending upon experience):
- Associate: $135,000 - $150,000
- Mid: $150,000 - $185,000
- Senior: $185,000 - $200,000+
